He seems to know Jade from before, and always tries to beat him at things. Despite his skills in Fonon research, he seems to be more adept in the use of Fon machines. He is always seen on his floating chair, and of course, he's one conceited enemy. He calls himself Dist the Rose, but the others refer to him as Dist the Reaper, with the exception of Jade who calls him Dist the Runny. Dist usually lets his machines do the dirty work for him. >>SPOILERS!! Dist's real name is Saphir Neis. Jade, Nephry (Jade's sister), Emperor Peony and he were childhood friends back in their days at Keterburg. They studied under Professor Gelda Nebilim, but when she died because of Jade's failed attempt at the Seventh Fonon, the two swore to bring her back. Up until the very end, all he wanted was to make a replica of Nebilim, and tell her all about what has happened.
