Elle Mel Marta is playable for the first time in Tales of The Rays!

She is all grown up

That's right, a fully grown-up Elle is now fully playable in Tales' trademark LMBS through Tales of The Rays' latest event!
While Tales of Asteria may have ended a while back, it's not done collaborating with Rays. The latest Tales of The Rays event is another Asteria event, this time coming with an adult Elle Mel Marta, who was previously a card in Asteria. She also originally appeared for a few minutes in a certain scene in Xillia 2. This is her first appearance in 3D, and she was given an entirely original moveset to be used in LMBS!

The other returning featured characters this event are of course her father Victor and Tales of Asteria's own Orie. They each come with new artes which, like usual, you can find at the bottom of this article.

To make this article easier to use as reference, below is a schedule you'll want to keep an eye on for the duration of this and concurrent events.

Tale of The Star Overcoming Fate Start Time End Time
Raid March 31st, 14:00 JST April 10, 10:59 JST
Elle Event Gacha Banners March 31st, 14:00 JST April 10, 10:59 JST
Elle Event Ticket Gacha March 31st, 14:00 JST April 23, 23:59 JST
Monthly Tower of Ancient Progenitors: April March 31st, 14:00 JST April 30, 23:59 JST
Monthly All-Out Tower: April March 31st, 14:00 JST April 13, 13:59 JST

Be sure to refer back to this if you're worried about how much time you'll have left! But before you go into the event, you should use your free Gacha pulls. On your home screen you may notice this yellow alert icon on the bottom right- this takes you to the Gacha screen, which has the free pulls.

The free pulls are on Elle's banner. You may notice each button has an option for a 0 cost pull- simply press these buttons and select the option that costs 0 for free pulls.

Let's move on to playing the event itself. In the quests menu (second from the left on the bottom) you'll go to the events section, the second tab from the top. There will be two relevant quest banners: a story section and a raid one. At first you'll only be able to play the story quests so touch the banner and get started!

After completing all story quests, you'll be taken to the raid itself, which you can also reach by touching the unlocked quest banner here.

There will be 3 bosses, but not all of them will necessarily be unlocked by the time you start the raid. You can participate by tapping the icon of an unlocked boss, starting with Schwartz from Tales of Legendia on the left.

Every quest has a point value, with higher difficulty quests giving higher score. After clearing all quests, try repeating the highest difficulty quest to farm points efficiently!

After selecting a Raid Quest, you may notice a percentage on each potential helper you can use. You'll also see these when setting up your party for the quest itself. That's the Raid Bonus, and you'll get more Raid points for higher total Raid Bonuses across your party. You're encouraged to get your raid bonus as high as possible before even attempting each quest. It's weighted towards characters featured in the event, so it's most likely to be Xillia 2 characters (and Orie, of course.)

You're also scored based on how well you do in raid battles as well. In particular, you're scored on Time and Combo Damage. You'll get the maximum bonus for clearing each quest in under 15 seconds and dealing a majority of damage in a single combo, so keep playing these quests to practice until you know how to open bosses up and convert to a winning combo speedily!

When all players collectively obtain a certain amount of points on each boss, the next boss will be unlocked until the raid reaches completion. Afterwards, higher difficulties will unlock with more efficient point values, and Elle will be unlocked for all players along with her skit!

But you should also farm for individual rewards. Here's a chart of which rewards to aim for as you accumulate points.

Raid Reward Description/Points Required
Elle's event arte.  Earned at 27500 raid points and maxed out at 160000 raid points.
Elle's Mirrage Shards. Uncaps Level at 50, 60 and 70 (allowing up to level 80). Earned at 30000, 150000 and 400000 points.
Special Tickets. There's a guaranteed Mirrage Arte ticket at 1.5 million points, a guaranteed Seasonal Mirrage Arte Ticket at 3 million points and finally a guaranteed Final Mirrage Arte ticket at a whopping 7 Million Points!

We suggest reaching at least 400,000 points so that you have every non-gacha item you need to power up Elle. Event Artes are event exclusive and Mirrage Shards are hard to come by outside of events featuring that character! However, we recommend going for AP refills with skits or dia to reach the special gacha tickets. It may seem like a lot but once the Raid is over and the final stages are unlocked, it should only take a few hours total to reach it once you figure out your preferred farming strategy. Final Mirrage Artes are extremely rare and powerful with a lot of benefits, so it's worth it to go for a guaranteed one!

That should be everything you need to aim for this event! With just a raid it should be pretty simple to see the story, recruit the characters and farm the rewards.

And without further ado, here's the arte and costume previews for each character!

Elle

Elle's fighting style is made entirely original for this game, as we never got to see her combat style in motion in the short appearances she had in other titles. She's not simply a copy of Victor, she mostly uses throwing daggers alongside dual handguns. You can also get an alternate costume by acquiring her Gacha Mirrage Arte that makes her color scheme closer to Victor than Ludger!

Victor

Orie

Orie gets one of her only alternate costumes in Asteria, a fancy dress she wore for a certain event card in that game! Her 5* arte's picture is also her Yukata, but that isn't a costume in this game yet. The arte itself is very useful, since the "joke" part of the animation can be cancelled early, so it's pretty useful for anyone who wishes to play as her!

And that's it for this event! It lasts for a little more than a week so be sure to play as much as possible in that time. We may also get a new event preview video soon, so be sure to check back here in-case!

It's been a while since we've put out an update for Rays events. We'll try to resume them regularly, so sorry for any inconvenience. You can always check out the Tales of The Rays wiki here for more info. I can also personally attest that, at least this time, it's not a simple fact of "life getting in the way." There are other Tales related projects in the works, which we'll be happy to put out news for soon!
