  >>Many may think this is a sequel to ToW:ND2 because it harbors the same protagonists, but it isn't. Instead, Frio and Kyaro are back within a completely different storyline, and a whole new adventure. The game features the all new "Party Battle System," allowing three parties of four characters to engage into battle all at the same time. Like in the previous ND, the two characters get to turn into the occupations they wear clothes with. Also, characters from Tales of Destiny 2 and Tales of Symphonia join in to help. Another neat feature added is that movement within dungeons now uses a sort of strategy system, like that of some FF Tactics game :P. |
| >> Storyline |
  >>Again, from what we understood from our own rough translation >_<... Frio and Kyaro are two friends living in Minacle Town. The two are absolutely fascinated by the Tales of legends, tales passed down from generation to generation telling of how heroes saved the different worlds of the past. They are so infatuated by the legends that they read their stories every night before going to sleep.
One day, their neighbour, Mr. Brown excavates something interesting from a nearby ruin. He finds a time-traveling device, which came to be known as the "Dream" by the Frio and Kyaro. Using this, they are now able to visit the places where the different Tales of legends came into action!
That night, before going to sleep, Frio read another Tales legend as usual, but something was completely odd. That particular tale had a bad ending, wherein the hero didn't make it in time and the world got destroyed. Disappointed, Frio immediately went to sleep.
The next day however, Frio and Kyaro learn why the ending of that tale became as such. Mr. Brown informs them that the Dream has been stolen! At that time, another Dream machine shows itself to them, and with it, Mr. White, who is actually Mr. Brown from 100 years in the future (he's old and stressed with white hair, hence the name). He informs them that someone used the Dream to alter the events of the Tales legends, thereby causing the future to be in chaos. Determined, Frio and Kyaro go to this journey, using the clothes that let them change into anything, and the time-machine known as the Dream II.
