After the events of Tales of Xillia, Leia has decided to shift her career goal to from being a nurse to becoming a reporter in Elympios. However, her editor generally does not think her articles are good enough for publication, so she still has a ways to go. Instead, she is frequently tasked with "special assignments" like delivering paperwork and fetching a major advertiser's lost cat. While working on one such assignment, she encounters Ludger and offers to introduce him to one of her informants to help him track down Julius.
Leia is generally a very upbeat person, cheerful in both personality and outlook, to the point where she can be naive. Her character chapters focus on her attempts to improve as a reporter while learning about misconceptions the people of Elympios and Rieze Maxia have about each other.
