Tales of Xillia Remastered Officially Announced, Coming October 31, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and STEAM

Didn't see that coming!

In the recently concluded video premiere of the next Tales of Remastered game, we finally get the official confirmation for, you've guessed it, Tales of Xillia Remastered!

After a rocky start with the recent leak, we finally get the confirmation for Tales of Xillia Remastered! Tales of Xillia Remastered is confirmed for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via STEAM, to be released this October 31st, 2025! In just two months time!

New artwork featuring Milla and Jude has been made for the game, and it has been announced that this is a joint image between Mutsumi Inomata and Kosuke Fujishima. This must have been done while Inomata-sensei was still alive, given her passing.

Aside from this, the trailer also showed a Digital Deluxe Edition available for the West.

A short message from General Producer Tomizawa-san was also released, talking about the game's story and features, along with what the Remastered has to offer, including quality of life features similar to Tales of Graces f Remastered such as toggling encounters off and location indicators, as well as inclusion of old DLC of the game. He also mentions to look forward to the remainder of the Tales of 30th Anniversary, as they plan to make it a memorable one.

Quality of Life Features

A complete list of the Remastered improvements are below:

  • Vivid graphical updates
  • Grade Shop available during first playthrough - with 5,000 Grade to use right off the bat
  • Added "50% off items" in the Grade Shop
  • More than 40 DLC from the previous game will be included. Some DLC may not be included due to licensing issues
  • Autosave function
  • Enemy encounter toggle function (does not apply to certain event battles)
  • Retry feature for regular battles
  • Subtitles available for battle scenes, including Mystic Artes, Linked Artes, and battle results
  • Dash toggle function
  • Destination icons
  • "!" icons for sub-events on the location map and mini map
  • Display of each item on the mini map, such as chests, search bags and search points, and Aifread's treasures
  • Skip event option for scenes
  • Skippable cutscenes and skits
  • "NEW!" icons for artes and items recently acquired
  • Item descriptions for Jet Black Feather trading post
  • Batch selection of bonus materials
  • Differential display of status changes when changing equipment
  • Simplified selection of items such as treasure chests (i.e. you can open a chest when you're not directly facing it)
  • Ability to switch camera distance on the map
  • Key binding customization features
  • Additional volume settings
  • Additional voice-over settings (switch between English and Japanese in the Options menu)
  • Some typos and omissions in the text have been corrected (Japanese only)
  • Some expressions were changed in the original work in consideration for ethics

Pre-orders are currently only up for North America via Bandai Namco Entertainment America's Store, priced at $39.99 for the PS5 and the Switch. There seems to be no physical version for Xbox.

The Japanese release for Tales of Xillia Remastered will be a day earlier, on October 30th, 2025, and will include physical Super Special and Special Editions, both of which will have merchandise that will be sold separately:

The Japanese trailer also highlighted interchangeable covers for the game, showing the old box art.

Unfortunately, there seems to be no sign of the sequel, Tales of Xillia 2 getting a remastered treatment. But with the release date this soon, we'll hopefully hear news about it soon...?

Tales of Xillia
Tales of XilliaTales of Xillia is the thirteenth mothership title of the series released for the PlayStation 3 and is considered as the Tales of Series 15th anniversary title. The game features two “main” protagonists, Jude and Milla, whose routes, though with few differences, you choose prior to starting the game. Xillia also features character designs by Mutsumi Inomata and Kosuke Fujishima, as well as animated scenes by ufotable.
