Milla is the great spirit Maxwell and the Lord of Spirits. She spends the early part of Tales of Xillia 2 trapped in the dimensional abyss. Initially, she is trapped there by Chronos, but then she is prevented from escaping by the presence of another Milla in the prime dimension. When Milla is eventually freed from the abyss, she joins Ludger, Jude, and their friends.
Milla is very fond of humans and is continually fascinated by their odd behavior. She is especially close to Jude as a result of their journeys together in Tales of Xillia. Milla's character chapters focus on her fondness for humans and her quest to learn more about her predecessor's relationship with humanity.
