Huma, Gajuma and Mechanoids unite in this month's Preview video!
The wait is over! Bandai Namco's Youtube Channel released October's character preview for October 2019 so check it out-there's a lot of characters this month!
First up is our story characters, featuring two more Triverse characters: the lovable mechanical lifeform Kunzite who comes with Lithia Spodumene from Tales of Hearts! The latter is quite the surprise, as this will be the first time she'll be a playable party member in the series.
Now for the event characters! First up is the expected Halloween event, which will have Norma Beatty from Tales of Legendia! The other three featured characters in the banner are Suzu, Marta and Presea!
But that's not the only event we'll have this month. We're also getting a new Orchestra themed event, tying in with Tales of Orchestra 2019! It will also be a Tales of Rebirth event, featuring only characters from that game. The video shows us the returning featured characters first, Annie and Hilda, who's seasonal Mirrage Art will also have appearances by Eugene and Claire... speaking of which, the actual debut characters will be Mao, whose appearance was teased by the official twitter; and with him comes Eugene Gallardo to no one's surprise! Those two will never be apart.
Side note about Eugene: his voice is still credited as Unshō Ishizuka. For those who may not have heard, he passed away in august last year. He was well known outside of Tales for roles such as Heihachi from Tekken and Joseph Joestar from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Seeing as it's been almost a year since his passing, this will be his most recent voice acting credit, given postmortem. We don't know for sure whether or not he recorded new lines for Rays or if it's archival audio, but given that Mirrage Artes and Room dialogue is made new for the game, it's likely that they had him record lines far in advance. We'll see when he's released though, but whatever the case is we're glad Namco is giving his original voice actor the respect he deserves by keeping him in the role.
That's it for October! We didn't get many characters last month, so this month definitely makes up for it with 5 new characters and many new seasonal Mirrages. As usual, check back soon for info on each event as they come!
Tales of the Rays is a Tales mobile game for the iOS and Android featuring characters designed by Hidenori Matsuraba and a new ADF-LMBS (Advanced Flick Linear Motion Battle System). The game tells the story of hero Ix Nieves and heroine Mileena Weiss in the world of Tir Na Nog. Characters from the previous Tales titles appear in this game. The game initially had an English version, but was short-lived and now currently runs exclusively in Japan.
