Rita Mordio is a researcher studying blastia. When Yuri's best lead regarding a blastia thief in the Lower Quarter point him toward a mage named Mordio, he travels to the scholarly city of Aspio and ends up breaking into Rita's home. She is upset at the intrusion and accusations, but ends up joining the party in order to find the culprit who has been misusing her name. During their travels, she is frequently fascinated by blastia and aer. She is absolutely furious when a mysterious dragon rider starts destroying blastia.
Rita is both extremely intelligent and eccentric. She does not have strong social skills, which causes her to speak bluntly and sometimes come across as rude. She is very serious about her research to the point of obsessiveness and dislikes being interrupted. Although she kept to herself in Aspio, she gradually develops a friendship with the other party members and becomes especially close to Estelle.
