From the day Laphicet was born, he was just exploited as a tool to be used for his power to wield artes and wasn't even bestowed his own name. He was an emotionless child who didn't have a will of his own and would just blindly follow his master's orders. This behavior of his irritates Velvet at first, but as the story progresses, Laphicet eventually develops a mind of his own from travelling with Velvet.
Though initially a tool under Abbey, the organization of exorcists, he eventually joins Velvet. He becomes an existence that becomes an anchor for Velvet to continue the journey with her rage boiling inside of her.
