Officially announced in today's Nintendo Direct, Tales of Eternia Remastered launches October 16, 2026 for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and STEAM!
After a bunch of leaks, we finally get the official announcement from today's June 9th Nintendo Direct. The direct unfortunately only showed a small snippet of the game, but a new trailer was released for the announcement:
The Japanese version trailer is here.
One odd thing to note is it seems the game's English dub is completely getting reworked. At the moment, we're unsure if the game will feature full voice dubbing. The trailer also teased quality of life improvements.
Fun to note is that even in the English release trailers, the game's Japanese opening song, flying by Garnet Crow was used, unlike what we've seen so far for the releases of Tales of Berseria Remastered and Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn edition.
Japan is getting reversible covers and a Special Collector's Edition of the game, featuring an acrylic diorama, pin badges, illustration cards and stickers encased in a special box.
While for both Japan and the West, we are getting a Digital Deluxe Edition featuring a digital artbook, soundtrack, some items and a BGM pack.
Note that in Japan, the game releases a day earlier, on October 15, 2026.
Tales of Eternia is the third mothership title to be released for the Tales of Series. Not to be confused with the actual Tales of Destiny 2, Tales of Eternia was localized in North America as “Tales of Destiny II” for brand name recognition purposes. The game tells the story of Reid and his friends and the two worlds in their universe – Inferia and Celestia. It later got an online game based on the game’s world but was later shut down.
