During their "Discotek Day" live stream, as well as at their Otakon panel, Discotek Media have announced that they have acquired the license for the Tales of the Abyss anime TV series. They will be releasing the series on Blu-Ray, coming some time this year in 2026.

Currently, the company has only stated that the Blu-Ray set will include all 26 episodes with English subtitles and "Sparkling Blu-Ray High Definition" video. They also note the use of "Karma" by BUMP OF CHICKEN, which was used for both the original game and the anime as the opening theme song. Otherwise, no other features or extras were shared, nor was a specific release date, besides the aforementioned 2026.
Assuming I'm still allowed to go off the record here, this is good news for those who missed out on the original Blu-Ray that FUNimation did several years ago. That being said, it is a tad disappointing that there is no new content for this version. As far as I can tell, it's essentially the same as what was done before. And while I can understand why an English dub is not being produced, it would have been a nice treat.

Tales of the Abyss is the eighth mothership title of the series initially released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan in the same year as Tales of Legendia. It is the Tales of Series 10th Anniversary title. The game was later ported to the Nintendo 3DS and was adapted into a 26-episode TV anime by Sunrise. Abyss tells the story of Luke, a young noble whose life turns upside down upon meeting a mysterious girl named Tear. The game appears to be influenced by musical themes.
