Tales of Zestiria - Nico Nico Douga Chokaigi 3 Day 1 Coverage

Day 1 of the Zestiria portion of Nico Nico Douga Chokaigi 3 is over, revealing a couple of new information along with information we already know. Just a forewarning, any new information regarding translations will be added by a745 when she has the time.

Before the Zestiria portion of the stream, the show started with an overview of the three games that would be shown during the broadcast. For Zestiria, the booth was represented by standees of the five revealed characters, and a replica model of the book that was on the countdown site which seemed like a guestbook for the event. An hour later, the show started with the host and Hideo Baba in a barlike setting with background music from Xillia. They then introduced Lyla's voice actor Miyu Matsuki onstage as a guest.

The three of them talked about more of what we already know such as the game designers, ufotable's animation, the world of Zestiria and the prologue of the story. This time around, we have a nice sketch art of Slay & Alicia by ufotable and another angle of the game's Dragon. Thereafter, the second PV was revealed. It introduces the characters that we've learned of thus far, some cutscenes, and more in battle footage. Feel free to check it out in HD here:

After that, the five characters were ran down individually by Baba and co. and then Baba revealed the name of Zestiria's battle system. It's entitled: Fusionistic Chain - Linear Motion Battle System (Or, FC-LMBS). From what I understood, after the name was revealed, Baba continued to describe how the system worked by detailing the styles that you can shift into (again, akin to Graces' system) by using Mikulio as an example.

Thereafter, they then proceeded to entertain the audience. They first started with a little voting game where the audience got to vote what lines or behaviour Miyu Matsuki as Lyla had to voice on stage, they had two guitarists (sorry, I don't recognize them.) cover Tales of the Abyss' opening Karma, Tales of Symphonia's opening Starry Heavens, and two tracks from Tales of Zestiria. Baba then invited those who were at the booth to check out the countdown replica book, talked a little bit about Tales of the World: Reve Unita, and closed the show.

Once again, I apologize for how incomplete this may sound due to my lack of Japanese understanding, but once a745 is available again she'll be able to add anything that I've missed. Hopefully we'll see some more content tomorrow!
