Tales of Arise x Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Cross Collaboration Paid DLC Announced

Tales of Arise gets a new boss fight

Fight Kirito and Asuna in this special upcoming collaboration DLC!

A special cross-collaboration paid DLC between Tales of Arise and Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris has been announced. The DLC will be available beginning October 7th, at the same time of the free update.

Tales of Arise DLC

The paid DLC will cost 1,760 Yen/USD 15.99/CAD 21.49/€ 15.99/£12.99/AUD 23.95 depending on the region and will be available for all platforms the game is on. The DLC will include:

  • A special battle against Kirito and Asuna at the Elde Menancia Training Grounds. Producer Tomizawa-san comments that the fight is especially difficult. The battle has two difficulties, one fighting against Kirito and Asuna at Level 25, and the other at Level 98.

  • Kirito's weapons can be obtained upon beating Kirito and Asuna at Level 98.
  • A special Mystic Arte for Alphen will also be unlocked upon winning the easier, Level 25 battle. The new Mystic Arte can be used by Alphen and features Kirito and Asuna. The Mystic Arte will be granted via an Artifact, and it replaces Alphen's Level 1 Mystic Arte "Scarlet Outburst". The new Mystic Arte can only be used once in battle (after which any further attempts defaults back to Scarlet Outburst), and cannot be used in the battle against Kirito and Asuna. It can be turned off via the Artifact Effects menu.

  • Sword Art Online costumes for Alphen, Shionne and Law are obtained upon buying the DLC. Alphen gets a Kirito costume, Shionne gets an Asuna costume, and Law, which we presume is somewhat a jab at him and Kirito having the same voice actor, also gets a different version of Kirito's costume, specifically his Sword Mastery Academy costume.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris DLC

In turn, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will also get DLC costumes for Kirito and Asuna. Kirito will be getting an Alphen costume, while Asuna will be getting a Shionne costume.

  • In contrast to the SAO contents coming to Tales of Arise, this DLC will be free.
  • The costumes will become available during the 2.0 update, Myosotis.
