With the second to the last episode of Tales of Zestiria the X's 1st part aired, ufotable has officially announced the 2nd cour for 2017!
In episode #11 (12th aired episode), it has been officially announced that the 2nd cour or part of Tales of Zestiria the X will air on 2017. Here's a short snippet trailer of the announcement:
Though we announced before in a previous post from a streaming site's schedule leak that Tales of Zestiria X will be split into two parts, ufotable has now officially announced it. In addition, instead of the initial Winter airing for the 2nd cour from the leak, it was just announced as "2017." There's no specific season slot yet.
The Tales of Zestiria the X anime (read as “the Cross”) is a TV series adaptation of Tales of Zestiria that was first announced during Tales of Festival 2015 as the “Tales of 20th Anniversary Animation”. The animation is done by ufotable. The first season aired during Summer 2016, with a second season confirmed for 2017. Its tagline is “The Journeys of the Shepherd go beyond Zestiria,” and shows hints of connections with Tales of Berseria. FLOW will appear as guests to perform their latest singles alongside the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra: BURN, opening theme for Tales of Berseria, and Kaze no Uta (???, Song of the Wind), opening theme for the recently concluded first season of the anime Tales of Zestiria the X.
The Tales of Orchestra Concert 2016 will be held on November 30, 2016 at the Tokyo International Forum Hall A in Tokyo, Japan. Gates will open at 6PM, with the concert proper to begin at 7PM. The pieces will be performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. More info can be found on our previous report about the upcoming concert.

Tales of Berseria is the latest mothership title of the Tales of Series which was first announced during Tales of Festival 2015. The game was released for both the PS3 and PS4 on August 18, 2016 in Japan, January 24, 2017 in North America and January 27, 2017 in Europe for the PS4 and PC. The game features a female protagonist named Velvet and a theme of pirates and ships. It’s also confirmed as a distant prequel to Tales of Zestiria.
