Tales of Festival 2012 Day 1 and Day 2 Live Blog (...Sort of...) - Event Over! - Abyssal Chronicles ver3 (Beta)

Tales of Festival 2012 is officially over! A round of applause to Namco Bandai & the game VAs!

Okay, first off, everyone knows I'm not at the Tales of Festival 2012 right now. There are, however, people who are posting about the event live in Twitter and 2chan. I'll be posting some important events and snippets in this post, so do check in frequently!

Note: All times are in Japan time/JST.

Day 2 Now Over

2:30 PM: Whoops, sorry I woke up late. Nothing significant happening so far.

2:45 PM: The program is starting, with Rita and Raven's voice actors narrating. Rita's explaining things, Raven sort of imitates her to annoy her. Rita gets annoyed. Raven buys clothes as a souvenir from China (what?). Everyone else seems to have them, even Rita who got herself cat ears.

2:50 PM: They've started playing the Tales opening movies again, they began with Phantasia's... Destiny's.... Eternia's...

3:00 PM: Haha, the audience basically cheered out loud when Barbatos came in Destiny 2's opening for some reason

3:05 PM: Symphonia's opening... basically it's in order of release, I guess. They're currently at Abyss's.

3:10 PM: Yup, it's just the successive openings. They basically flew by Tempest's though.

3:15 PM: Oh wait, Tempest's didn't even fly by. It was skipped. And so was Dawn of the New World's opening. Welp.

3:17 PM: Today's Xillia opening is the Milla version. Yesterday was Jude's. Also, Yokohama arena, everyone!

3:20 PM: Ah, that montage was just for the mothership titles' openings. No wonder they skipped Tempest's and DotNW's.

3:25 PM: Enter the amazing Guy! And Luke!

3:30 PM: They'll begin in 5 minutes... Wait, so that wasn't even the start of it?

3:50 PM: Special Skit: "Snow Princess Milla And The Seven Dwarves". It's like Snow White, apparently.

4:30 PM: It's been nothing but skits so far, I believe. Sugita-san (Alvin's VA) has been talking for a while now. Then suddenly, Okiayu-san (Gaius's/Dymlos's VA) comes in. He's their secret guest. Much like yesterday when Toriumi-san (Yuri's VA) comes up on stage from the audience when he's not even supposed to be there, lol.

5:00 PM: Yup, Okiayu-san's mainly there to act out as Gaius.

5:30 PM: Another secret guest. Actually, it's a secret live performance. Me is performing right now.

5:45 PM: Me's performance really feels like it's Misono up there... Personally I think they're one and the same person, though.

5:50 PM: Tsubasa Yonaga (Jude's VA) is up on stage wearing a Jude cosplay.

5:55 PM: Midorikawa-san (Leon's VA): "Ever since yesterday... I loved everyone." Also, it's about time for the second half of the 6th Popularity Ranking Poll results.

6:00 PM: While introducing Tales of Xillia 2 once again:
Onosaka: It's a jump from the past to the future.
Hideo Baba: ...
Onosaka: ...Right on target?

6:05 OM: The cast of "Snow Princess Milla and the Seven Dwarves": Snow White - Milla; The Mirror - Pascal; The Queen - Cheria; Dwarves - Guy, Luke, Asbel, Raven, Yuri, Zelos, Leon, Alvin; Narrator - Rita; The Villain (?) - Gaius.

6:08 PM:

6:00 AM: According to Tokkurin, there were around 200 people at this time...

7:30 AM: Then it suddenly escalated to a thousand people by 7:30!

11:45 AM: Tales of Xillia Jude Mathis figure prototype by ALTER revealed. Tales of Vesperia Raven and Estelle figures by ALTER announced. Tales figurines by Ichiban Kuji announced. Tales of Nendoroid Petites prototypes by Good Smile Company revealed. Check here for more info and pictures.

12:45 PM: So, the event itself hasn't started yet. It's just selling and displays of merchandise. Oh look, a Mabo Curry stand.

1:45 PM: Mabo Curry's sold out! (that was fast...)

2:45 PM: I'm personally annoyed that some of the sold-out TalesFes merchandise are being sold on Yahoo Auctions right now for increased prices. Seriously, WHY ARE YOU EVEN AT THE EVENT?

3:30 PM: Sold out: Yuri and Estelle fan and sign light set. Also, the doors to the event open at 3PM. The event proper itself starts at 4:30PM.

4:00 PM: Sold out: Tales of Festival Fans Bible; Talesring Xillia Vol 1; Tales of Symphonia Shirt M Size; Milla scrunchy

4:10 PM: The event's about to begin, so I won't focus on sold out merch anymore. Apparently, they're playing all the game opening videos right now. It started with Abyss. The one's they've shown are Xillia's Jude version OP, Innocence (DS), and Graces. I may have missed some.

4:20 PM: Keele and Emil are narrating/hosting. Also some sort of "ECC" commercial. I'm not sure what they're pertaining to.

4:50 PM: Bonnie Pink just performed live. Also, I believe Zelos and Lloyd's voice actors came up on stage right after - in costume, no less. Anyway, less than two hours left till the Next Tales of reveal!

5:00 PM: Special Skit: "Flaming Cooking Showdown! Tales' Strong Man"

5:30 PM: A lot are saying that this year's TalesFes is way better than the previous ones.

5:40 PM: To those who want to see more pictures, Famitsu has put up some.

6:05 PM: Less than 30 minutes left until the Next Tales of reveal! It's been nothing but skits, by the way.
