>> Tales of Xillia Out On August 6th In The US, No Plans For Tales PS Vita Localizations Or Next-Gen Developments
Kotaku had an interview with Tales of Series producer Hideo Baba about his comments on some issues regarding the Tales games, along with a confirmation of Tales of Xillia's US release date.
First off, Tales of Xillia's release date for the US, according to the Kotaku article, will be on August 6th. This was apparently announced during Namco Bandai's Global Gamer's Day. I'm not sure if it will be the same for the EU release.
Hideo Baba also repeats in the interview the same thing he said during the previous New York Comic Con: No localizations for the PS Vita Tales of Series games are planned because the PS Vita itself is doing relatively poor in the West.
In addition, Baba-san also mentions that though the PS4, WiiU and the next Xbox are looking great so far, they have no plans of developing a Tales game on them as of yet.
To the interested, the issue of dual audio was also raised, and Baba-san said that they are definitely looking into it for future titles, though at the moment he can't promise anything.
Tales of Xillia will be released in the US on August 6, 2013 and in Europe sometime the same year. Pre-orders are now available at the following places:

I would have pre-ordered Tales of Xillia already, but I'm waiting to see if they got some special edition or pre-order bonus for it. They say it will be a special year for Tales in North America this year, so I just have a feeling that the Namco Bandai Store might have something similar to Ni No Kuni, but on a smaller scale.
As for the Vita, I was never going to get one... unless they announced the Tales games were coming to it over here. That in turn, would have me snatch up Persona 4 Golden and Muramasa Rebirth to go along with it.

I don't have a Vita yet because there aren't too many games I really want for it… I would buy one in a heartbeat if the west got Innocence/Hearts R We didn't get the originals, so I'm really hoping we can get the remakes… >.<
Dual audio would be nice, but isn't really a necessity to me. Usually the English dubs for games are fine, I mostly like playing with the original audio because of lip synching xD;
Can't wait for Xillia! Wish it were a little earlier in the summer, but oh well! I wonder if there will be any preorder bonuses? I've already preordered mine, but I love me some preorder bonuses. xD

Glad to have a release date finally. Only problem is I was hoping it would be earlier in the summer than that. August 6th isn't that far away from the start of the new school year :(
Also that comment on the PSvita is garbage. The Vita sold like trash in Japan too but they had no problem releasing the games still. According to Vgchartz the Vita has sold 1.4 million systems in North America Europe AND Japan. Also I am not buying a Vita until they release those Vita Tales games so I guess we are at a standstill here.
Not surprised at his comments on the next gen systems. It's a little early for those right now especially since not all 3 of them are out yet. Plus they still need to bring Xillia 2 to the west so there is that too.
Glad to hear about the dual audio thing. Hopefully they can just get it in the game so people can finally shut up about that. People can be so annoying when it comes to wanting dual audio.

In a way, I'm glad Baba-san is at least looking into the whole dual-audio thing. Kinda gives me hope that there is a possibility in the near future.
But the whole PS vita thing isn't really surprising though. Although, it kinda sucks that we won't be getting ToI:R and ToH:R
I hope they do realise that Vita is doing bad because there aren't any real titles out for it? I mean, bringing Tales titles over to the West for Vita, for me, gives a reason to actually buy a Vita. Remakes or ports aren't really games that makes me want to buy one.
About the dual-audio. It's great they're looking into it, but it's not a must. The English voice actors are doing fine imo (and this coming from someone who mostly loves Japanese dub).
I hope the EU release date will be around that time as well, I wouldn't like it if I had to wait another long time before EU gets a Tales game, like with Graces F.
Just a quick note about the announcement, it was announced at a Namco Bandai press/media event called Global Gamer's Day (similar to Capcom Captivate) which took place in New York so it is official, it just happens that Kotaku are the first ones to report it.
